JetBlue Launches Flights

The City of Cleveland Director of Port Control Ricky D. Smith was joined by members of the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and JetBlue Airways as JetBlue Airways launched a new service to its latest destination at CLE. JetBlue now provides more daily flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and daily flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The airline also introduced daily flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to Detroit’s Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).

To celebrate Cleveland joining JetBlue’s network, the airline launched a sweepstakes to win trips to Cleveland.

In addition, this inaugural celebration included a party at both ends of its first flight. In Boston, an Elvis impersonator sang before the 6:45 a.m. departure and in Cleveland members of the Cleveland Orchestra performed classical favorites along with refreshments and other entertainment.
