NTI: Buckeye-Woodhill

The Buckeye-Woodhill area is one of the nation’s earliest planned shopping areas and Cleveland’s best example of transit-oriented development. After years of neglect, neighborhood is seeing its renaissance with plans to revive the retail corridor to encourage entrepreneurship and rehab available housing stock to make it available at all price points. Working with the RTA, the Initiative will once again connect the neighborhood with recreational resources such as hiking trails or Shaker Lakes.

City will work to stabilize this corridor by decreasing vacancy and promoting existing investments by RTA, CMHA and NEORSD to encourage additional private investment.

  • Habitat for Humanity infill homes - 10 new homes will be constructed on vacant lots throughout the neighborhood
  • CMHA mixed income housing

Mixed-Use

  • Buckeye Commercial Corridor redevelopment – redevelop existing buildings to house new retail and residential tenants
