“How do we become a great city?” asked Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “A great city will be measured by the condition and well-being of the least of us. Not in terms of welfare and charity, but in terms of all being able to participate in quality of life, prosperity and the elimination of inequities and disparities.”

During his speech, Jackson –the city’s 56th mayor – touched on core challenges that need to be collectively addressed in his new term. These include education, economic development, economic empowerment and public safety. He reminded the audience that Cleveland is a successful city, but addressing these issues will ensure Cleveland becomes a great city. View Mayor Jackson’s remarks here.
