America Recycles Day Response Grows as Clevelanders Work Together for the Environment


The day was a huge success with a 38% increase in participation over last year. Residents dropped off several hundred tons of material which has been diverted from landfills, helping to save the environment as well as City expenses. -More Images
 
New elements made the annual event even more informative and fun, including:
  • Water Pollution Control demonstrated how storm water debris pollutes
  • CPP showed how to use electricity efficiently
  • Water showed attendees how to conserve water flow
  • Solid Waste District demonstrated composting and organic fertilizer
  • CMSD School of the Arts K-12 students created art about recycling
