Special Events: issues permits for public property use, works with Film CommissionPark Maintenance and Properties: responsible for development and implementation of the Citywide property maintenance management and oversees the Parks, Cemeteries, Golf Courses, Urban Forestry, maintenance of Vacant Lots, Greenhouse and Task Force Program assignments.
Property Management: responsible for the maintenance and utility servicing of all city owned or leased real property and buildings
Parking Facilities: monitors, maintains, and plans on and off-street parking
Recreation: operates recreation centers, pools, playgrounds, ball fields, golf courses, etc. Also includes the Bureau of Cultural Arts.Research, Planning and Development: provides research landscape architectural/site plans and technical assistance to the department. Its activities include development and monitoring of comprehensive short and long range departmental Capital Improvement Programs.
Rockefeller Park Greenhouse: Used initially to grow plants for City landscaping, the facility has evolved into a botanical garden which is open free to the public year-round.
