All-Star Week Lakeside Avenue and St. Clair Avenue Pedestrian Detour

Monday, July 1, 2019

CLEVELAND – Due to Play Ball Park and security requirements Lakeside Avenue between East 6th Street and Ontario Street is closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. In addition St. Clair Avenue is closed to vehicular traffic between East 6th Street and Ontario Street and to pedestrian traffic on the north-side sidewalk.

As a result, the suggested detours below for pedestrian traffic is provided for anyone traveling to the Courthouse from City Hall and Willard Garage on Lakeside Avenue and for those traveling east on Lakeside Avenue to Willard Garage and City Hall from the Courthouse and the Justice Center.

Lakeside Avenue Westbound Pedestrian Detour: Pedestrians that are heading west on Lakeside Avenue to the Courthouse and the Justice Center will be directed to detour southbound on East 6th Street to the South sidewalk on St. Clair; westbound on St. Clair toward Ontario Street; and then northbound on Ontario Street to the Courthouse.

Lakeside Avenue Eastbound Pedestrian Detour: Pedestrians heading eastbound on Lakeside Avenue toward City Hall and Willard Garage will be directed along the detour by heading south on Ontario street to the south sidewalk of St Clair; eastbound on St. Clair to East 6th Street; and then north on East 6th Street to Lakeside Avenue.

Pedestrian Detour Signage: Attached are images of detour signs directing pedestrians through the detours both eastbound on Lakeside from the Court House and westbound on Lakeside Avenue to the Courthouse.

The City will place Sidewalk Closed Ahead signs at East 6th and Ontario on Lakeside Avenue and direct pedestrians toward the detour.

Note: Travelers whose destination is the Justice Center or the Courthouse should seek parking on or near Ontario Street and for City Hall visitors use Willard Garage off East 9th Street or parking east of East 6th Street.
